The Walton on the Hill pub has been completely refurbished
New landlords have refurbished a Walton on the Hill pub and foodies will be glad to hear a full menu is being served again.
David Dean and his wife Kara took over The Fox & Hounds in mid-August and shortly after closed it for more than two weeks to give it a refurbishment worth up to about £80,000.
It included refitting the kitchen and they have taken on a chef to serve up a full menu of traditional pub food.
Had a very good lunch in the patio area at the back. Surprising amount of room inside and out, with a seating area on the side as well as the back. Great friendly staff who kept checking everything was ok. Landlord cask beer was an extra good bonus. Varied menu and a good price. Well worth a visit.
We visited for a lunch snack. The service was excellent as was the food. The owner was very friendly and happy to tell us that the food come from local shops and butchers. You could see that the pub has been re-furbished and done very well. The Menu was interesting with lots of choice well cooked and tasty served with a smile.
I would well recommend this pub and suggest the other pub in the village should take note as this is the pub to visit.
